Spirit Fest Reflections: Healing, Humanity, and the Work Beneath the Surface

This past weekend, I spent two days at SpiritFest Sarasota, a vibrant gathering of energy healers, readers, artists, and seekers of every kind. Picture aisles filled with crystals, handmade candles and jewelry, essential oils, and alternative healers of every stripe. The air itself seemed to hum with possibility.

At my Unbound Activation Studio (now ZOHEMIA Collective) booth, I offered sound healing sessions using crystal and Himalayan bowls and shared my new Prismaline Chakra Sets—a seven-bowl collection designed for deep chakra alignment. While the full sets drew interest from practitioners, most visitors were curious about individual bowls or wanted to simply experience sound for themselves. Inviting people to step in and play turned out to be a beautiful way to connect. It opened conversations about healing, resonance, and what sound can awaken within us.

One of the things I love about events like this is how many different doorways there are into self-discovery. Whether it’s tarot, astrology, energy work, sound, or art—each offers its own language for remembering who we are. It’s not about one being “better” than another; it’s about how they weave together to meet people where they are on their journey.

Throughout the weekend, I met people moving through grief, chronic pain, curiosity, a longing for connection, sensuality, faith, and a return to nature. I saw laughter, tears, and hugs that carried the unmistakable energy of release. It’s the kind that says something inside just shifted.

And in those moments—after a release, a realization, or a deep emotional opening—I was reminded of how vital it is to help people integrate what arises. So much of the sound healing world focuses on the experience itself, but what happens after is just as important. Without integration, those breakthroughs can dissipate or feel confusing.

That’s where my coaching practice comes in. Many of my sessions this weekend naturally evolved into coaching conversations that helped people find language for what they felt, draw insight from it, and bring that awareness into their daily lives. Sound opens the door; coaching helps you walk through it. Together, they create a bridge between awakening and embodiment.

One of the most beautiful and deeply personal moments came when a woman stopped by my booth. She had a sparkle in her eye, tinsel in her hair, and a rhinestone on her tooth - she floated like a golden light walking toward me. When she played my root chakra bowl, something in the air changed. The sound was so resonant it stirred emotion in both of us. When she finished, she gave me a long hug and shared a message from my grandfather, a man I loved deeply and hadn’t thought of in a long time. I was flooded with tears, gratitude, and awe.

Moments like that remind me that sound isn’t just vibration. It’s communication between worlds, within the body, and across generations. It reminds us that healing can happen in the simplest exchanges of resonance, presence, and love.

As I left SpiritFest, I carried with me a renewed sense of purpose to make this work more accessible for anyone drawn to sound as a path inward, and to continue blending coaching and sound as complementary tools for lasting transformation. I’m sourcing a new collection of bowls that are beautiful, affordable, and energetically aligned so more people can begin their own journey with sound.

But more than that, I left with a deeper appreciation for the many ways we find our way home to ourselves. Whether through conversation, energy, or sound, it all begins with the same intention: to listen more deeply to the life within us.
